Cellular Shades: Best in Class for Insulation
Wide varieties of window coverings will increase your home’s energy efficiency, but cellular shades are the platinum standard for insulation. Duette® Honeycomb Shades have an innovative interior construction of cells that trap air to create a layer of insulation. By trapping air against your windows, these cells help keep your home cooler in warm weather and warmer when exterior temperatures are low. Honeycomb shades are available in many premium fabrics and various opacities, so no matter your light control and privacy needs, you can have a beautiful and functional window treatment.
Blinds and Shutters
Window blinds with closed slats offer first-rate insulation, especially if your blinds are made from hardwood. Shutters are another excellent option for insulation as this window treatment can be mounted tightly within your window frame, preventing gaps for unwanted air from entering your home.
What About Roller Shades?

On the flip side, keeping your shades closed during the day during warm weather will keep your home much cooler.
